When a leading plastics extruder contacted Evolution Cooling Ltd to upgrade their existing process cooling system.
Following an assessment our team selected a ZCF CF chiller with integral pump and internal tank. System was separated via a 500kW Gasketed plate heat exchanger.
The Challenge
Plastic extrusion requires large volumes of heat to melt plastic material. The plastic is then fed through a die to form a profile. Once this profile is achieved it is cooled via a submerged bath of cold water which sets the profile and finish the product. This bath of water needs to be cooled and heat regularly removed via a Process chiller.
Water quality and temperature stability is important on Profile cooling to improve the quality of the profile.
The Solution
The plastics manufacturer turned to Evolution Cooling Ltd, a trusted expert in process chiller supply and installation. Our team selected a ZCF 2640 500kW Industrial process chiller from CF chiller. Along with this we installed a 500kW Gasketed heat exchanger to separate the process water from the chiller water.
